Art Shoppe Developers Go For Midwinter Fun, Little Brick by Little Brick
This is your chance to watch a giant Lego sculpture come together.
This one will require 60 hours of work by a pair of brick artists from Cube Works, who will build a 7.5 x 14-foot sculpture in the window of the former Art Shoppe store on Yonge just south of Eglinton. Using 20,000 Lego bricks, they will create a representation of the logo that the Art Shoppe Condos + Lofts will use for the Freed/CD development going up on the site of the former modern furniture retailer.
Cheer on the creators at 2131 Yonge St. at Hillsdale Avenue, on Saturday from 10 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 to 6 p.m. They started work on Thursday, so the piece’s foundation will have been plotted out and begun, but by Saturday the artists will really appreciate a wave and some cheery support.
