Art Shoppe Condos has already drummed up loads of attention. The two-tower project by CD Capital Developments and Freed Developments is coming to 2131 Yonge Street, right at Yonge and Eglinton. It’s clearly a development that takes creativity seriously, though it still has a strong sense of fun.
After all, it was recently announced Karl Lagerfeld would be designing the lobbies of the two buildings, the first time the style icon has worked on a condo project in North America.
While it may have an impressive pedigree, the condo has kept its sense of whimsy, commissioning artists from Cube Works Studio to create the colourful, 7.5 foot by 14 foot Lego sculpture inside one of the presentation centre’s windows.
That combination of sophistication and boldness is further emphasized in the building exteriors. Award-winning firm architectsAlliance is behind the eye-catching, contemporary design. They’re famous for their adventurous designs and have shaped everything from private houses to mid-rise buildings to large-scale academic structures.
Art Shoppe Condos released its first batch of renderings earlier this month. Have a look to see what’s in store:
Sales for available units start in the $200,000s.
